Leah Oliver, Psy.D.
(she/her/hers)

Licensed Psychologist #PSY33098

Dr. Leah Oliver is a licensed psychologist. She earned her doctorate from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2017. Dr. Oliver completed her pre-doctoral training working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups at Ann Martin Center in Oakland, California. She completed her postdoctoral training at California College of the Arts (CCA), where she currently serves as a psychotherapist and Associate Director of the Counseling and Psychological Services department.
At CCA, Dr. Oliver works with students in individual therapy sessions, and with staff and faculty to provide consultation, workshops, and psychoeducational training to support them in their roles supporting students. Dr. Oliver collaborates with local community groups to create workshops that encourage critical reflection on self-care practices and to provide training in social justice and liberatory methods for professionals supporting society’s most vulnerable. Dr. Oliver co-founded the Multi-Racial Deep Refuge Group at East Bay Meditation Center in 2013.
Dr. Oliver is committed to working with mixed-race, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ folks, and those from other marginalized communities as they experience the various intersections of their identities. She enjoys working with adults in individual and group settings and has extensive experience working with first-generation and international undergraduate and graduate students as well as artists, educators, and professionals. She specializes in supporting individuals who have experienced chronic relational trauma or were raised in families affected by parental substance addiction.

How I work...

  • I integrate relational-psychodynamic and liberatory therapy with mindfulness techniques to help you recognize and deepen awareness of the connection between your body and mind.
  • I believe meaningful therapeutic change begins with establishing trust in the collaborative process we cultivate over time.
  • Together, we will honor your lived experience and inner knowing, fostering self-awareness and empowerment to shape the life you desire.
  • Therapy doesn't always require specific goals—self-discovery is often a winding journey of insights and surprises. I recognize that we each come from unique micro-cultures shaped by our earliest experiences, and I honor the ways you choose to express and explore your story.
  • I believe that before we can make meaningful changes, we must first honor and grieve the ways of relating and surviving that once served us but no longer do.
I offer online individual therapy for adults 18 and older, as well as teens 16 and up
$250 per 45-50 minute individual therapy session
Sliding Scale Available

Phone Consult

Before the first appointment, we offer a free 5-10 minute phone consultation with administrative staff. We will talk in order to see if the therapist is a good fit for what you are looking for in a counselor.
