Alyssa Hufana, Ph.D.

Dr. Hufana completed her predoctoral psychology internship at California State University, Long Beach Counseling and Psychological Services, and her postdoctoral residency at the University of California, San Diego Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. Hufana has advanced training and experience within university counseling centers, college alcohol and drug programs, and adult intensive outpatient settings.
Dr. Hufana is an active member of Div. 17 Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association, Division 45 Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and Race of the American Psychological Association, Asian American Psychological Association, Therapists in Tech, and Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders Lab (WELL) for women healthcare professionals in digital health. She is also an alumna of the prestigious APA Minority Fellowship Program (2018-2020).
Dr. Hufana is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and is passionate about supporting those who come from marginalized communities. She navigates the world as a second-generation Filipina American, cis female, heterosexual, first-generation graduate student, and able-bodied. Dr. Hufana’s approach is relational cultural and integrates evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a trauma-informed lens.
